He served as Member of Parliament for the Wirral constituency between 1906 and 1909, as well as being appointed Justice of the Peace for Cheshire and High Sheriff of Lancashire in later years. In the original half red calf binding with marbled boards. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing resulting in minor loss to the extremities. Light fading to the spine and the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot or handling mark.
